Lots of memories there. I recognize the Atlan weapon golem in that tower. The shield, helm and amuli are from the Simulacra quests. Scary that I actually recognized those things. And the tent, so many memories from our tent home. And names I recognize in chat, Nala and Mynah, PCMorris, Mongo, Murazor and Ephesian.

Thanks Hika!

Halls of the Helm near Zaikhail, I think? Also the home of the official one and true Stoup, if I remember correctly.

What do you mean by bad?? The graphics gave and still give a comfortably campy flavor to the game. Would the game have been any more nostalgic or enthralling were it running a Crysis Engine? I remember when Mud and Water golems were solid brown and blue blocks that ran at you! hehe

I so long for AC and the game play.

I would love to see a company revamp it but use many of the same game play options.

Random Loot
4 schools of magic
pass up of XP
Rank
spending your own skill points (I love being able to run fast)

Items dropping on death was a pain but made each and every death interesting

With item drops, it made death more interesting. Right now, you die, you lose some durability, and you go about your day. There is no accountability for your actions.

Remember when people would fall into acid pits, and you'd need to bring a group of healers to spam heals on them to keep them alive long enough to loot and recall out? :)

Dieing somewhere in the middle of nowhere and having to search through all the baddies that killed you in the first place. I remember when my gold armor came as a boon to me one day. Fell off a cliff, survived the landing, but the landin was right smack in the middle of a group of shadows. Shurkaun and I spent about an hour searching the cliffs where I "thought" I fell when one of us noticed a tiny little speck of bright yellow at the bottom of one.

So many stories of, "I have no idea where I died. I think it was around here somewhere."

I remember dieing in the water once, before the corpse location was added. I couldn't find my corpse to save my soul. My patron Inewulf came and worked his magic to find it. Didn't find out until later all he did was wander the are I thought I had died in and kept hitting Tab.

LOL... yeah Search and Rescue was one of my specialties. Darn it! Now you got me all missing AC and a certain archer with that perfect light blue set of armor with the matching bow.

My favorite story of corpse loss was very early on, Chin-To lent me a white matte robe while I went to try get my own. I was in the middle of nowhere playing in Israel when you were all sleeping.

I fell into a hole that was oddly shaped and died, this is when there were warnings about climbing on mountains, but in my case it was just a hole in the floor.

So I spawned, ran back, and my corpse was stuck in a strange loop where it would slowly fall down the hole, then pop back at the top, when it popped back at the top I could click it and view the items for one second, not even fast enough to get the icons. Note I was low level so my corpse didn't last that long.

So I sat there trying to VERY QUICKLY click the corpse, press the action button (e?) click the left most item, click the pickup hotkey, and slowly but surely I retrieved my items. I managed to get the robe, and then a few seconds later the corse dissapeared and all the items left (2-3 of them) fell to the bottom of the hole and I couldn't get them.

I think I might have had more than one corpse in my attempts to get the first one, I don't remember exactly, I just remember being so frustrated, but the feeling of success I got when I got the robe back, it was

That's my story.

Tusker Rampager hit you so hard the lifestone shudders.

Diamond Golem knocks you into next Morningthaw.

Corpse runs were interesting. I remember camping somebody's corpse for several hours at a time waiting for it to drop the loot when they got DC'd.

I also remember buffing the heck out of my mule so he could go to subway and survive the drop.
